Prayer

Father God,

I praise you as my provider. You care lovingly for the birds in your creation, and you care even more lovingly for me.

I confess that I often forget that you will provide for all my needs. I take my eyes off you and focus on my problems, worrying about how I will pay my bills or even how I will have enough to eat. Because you lavishly provide for my needs, it’s a sin to doubt you in this area, and I confess it today.

Thank you for delighting in good surprises, Lord. Thank you for giving me reasons to choose joy every day even when I still have needs. Thank you that I can always name ten things for which I’m grateful, off the top of my head, because you are good to me.

Help me trust that you will provide for all my needs according to the riches of your glory, Jesus. Help me remember I worship the king who owns it all and is eager to share his goodness with me. When I see the birds, may it be a sign to remember that you provide all I need and more.
